£150 “Pot Check”, A4 Inspired by a photo taken by a dear friend, this piece summarises all I love about Rajasthan. An overwhelming amount of colour, noise and chaos. Juxtaposed with beautiful God fearing people in a role-based society. This piece was painted with acrylics and oil paint on a small canvas, it would go perfectly in a small corner of a room with a black frame.
£500 “Confetti Dreams” 100/120cm Inspired by my late Grandma’s records. I took so many risks with this piece, I wasn’t painting ‘within the lines’- I was breaking the piece and putting it back together, til it felt as harmonious as the record itself. The random brush strokes are like musical notes against the light backdrop. The fragmented nature of the piece, and blending of back/foreground takes the viewer to a place of listening/getting lost in music.

£175 “BAO JI” Inspired by the story of a member of my family, shot in the back by a fellow policeman on a train in Punjab during partition. He was a Hindu, sadly shot by a Muslim due to the divide and hatred caused by partition. He was avenged by a fellow Sikh officer moments later, who shot and killed the shooter. Earlier in his life, after his wife passed away, he began smoking and drinking, as depicted here.
